The paper uses the Japanese year system, calling 2003 "Showa 78". However, the real Showa Era went only up to 64 (1989 - the year of Emperero Hirohito's death). 2003 would be Heisei (the era of real-life current emperor Akihito) 14. The same oddity is seen in Siren 2. Do these games take place in an alternate timeline?

The second story in the image also mentions that Hanuda Elementary School, Oribe Campus is going to have a school excursion to Gojaku Peak.
